The UK Friends of the Spafford Children’s Center’s Autumn newsletter asks for your help to fund positive solutions which give hope and encouragement to disadvantaged families in East Jerusalem and the surrounding areas.
Palestinian children as young as ten are arrested and detained for extensive periods, missing out on school and life skills, while family members seek advice on how to cope with the worry and stress.
100 children and teenagers are finding hope and education at SCC, 15 are currently under house arrest, 20 are ex-detainees, 30 are living in extreme poverty and 35 are at risk of dropping out of school. Through counselling and remedial education in English and Arabic they are making remarkable progress.
