Play therapy

Young children need space to develop good psychomotor skills. In the crowded living circumstances of the Old City of Jerusalem space is often very limited. Crowded environments combined with a lack of attention, a situation common among young children in large Palestinian families, can result in children being poorly prepared for kindergarten and school life.

Increasingly, behavioral problems in children are also caused by the trauma of witnessing violence, in reality or on the TV. Much of this results from the ongoing political situation and daily confrontations with heavily armed soldiers on the street. To prepare these children for kindergarten and school life, a course in Play Therapy is very beneficial and can give them the skills and confidence required to develop and succeed in everyday life.
