Remedial education

SCC provides remedial help for those with learning difficulties.

Psychological problems or anxieties are often expressed in symptoms such as an inability to perform adequately at school or behavioral problems at home. If children’s problems are ignored, their symptoms may persist and they risk educational failure and unemployment.

The children in Remedial Education receive psychological testing which enables the staff to create individual programs of intensive treatment for each child and to assess their progress.

The success of this department has been overwhelming – a large majority of students improve their school performance, gaining a grade level in just 11 weeks.

Remedial teaching courses are often complimented with occupational therapy, speech therapy, social work services, trauma treatment, and cultural activities.
