Balancing note papers on their laps, parents participated in a workshop at the Spafford Children’s Center. They learned about positive parenting skills, the negative effect of punishment on children, and how to react to difficult behaviors in children.
Being a parent is never easy, but Palestinian parents have the additional challenges of living under occupation and dealing, on a daily basis, with checkpoints and the separation wall. At the SCC they learn how to recognize when their frustrations are affecting their children.
